Purposes: 

The Senior Localization Manager works across large and diverse teams, together with the Localization's Director, to drive the Global strategy and execution of localization and translation into all the different languages and markets of all adidas marketing consumer facing contents, including but not limited to large brand campaigns, advertising, retail, digital, eCom, PR and Social across all consumer touch points



Key Responsibilities:

1. Impact on Business
  • Ensuring that all global consumer facing content is localized with high linguistic quality in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Communication to all global brand and eComm content owners and local markets allowing for clear understanding of best in class localizations, timelines and processes.
  • Support the Localizations Director in managing the relationship with lead translation agency as well as lead translations technology partner.

2. Relation to Customers/Suppliers/Third Parties
  • Main contact with all adidas internal brand and eComm content teams for global localization needs.
  • Ensure projects are briefed on time and including all required information.
  • Manage the setup and related communications for new markets on-boarded in the Localizations model as a result of their website being localized into the local language/s.
  • Works closely with local adidas marketing teams to give visibility on the Localizations model, setup and top-line processes, and also to identify and solve localization issues or disagreements, spot and analyze causes and perform corrective/preventative actions.
  • Lead ownership of the relationship with the legal content translation agency.

3. Innovation and Change
  • Continuously working to improve the localization process to allow for resource optimization, cost efficiency and service improvement.
  • Working closely with all internal and external parties to ensure that improvements on workflow are executed.
  • Involvement on all strategic innovations, which include FTE model growth and development.
  • Lead the Quality Management initiative through the localization model.
  • Develop strategy and reporting through digestion of digital data analytics.

4. Leadership/Management Responsibilities
  • Management of Localization team intern
  • Support for Project Management team and local linguists when it comes to communications with adidas Global and local teams.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience in managing localization projects for a large international global company across several channels
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present the localization process to internal and external parties
  • Proven abilities in project planning and resource management
  • Problem-solving capabilities
  • Quality and detail-oriented
  • Strong team player in a multi-language/multi-cultural environment
  • Self-starter and pro-active
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Experience in translation tools is a big plus
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis
  • Flexibility for frequent international travel

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (localization, business, linguistics, or with equivalent experience)
  • Solid in-depth knowledge of internationalization and localization
  • 5 years of experience directly related in the localization industry
  • Fluency in at least 2 non-English language (desired)
